Log Entries
Each time you work/drive you will need to add a Log
Entry. Logbook Checker will then make sure that the entry complies with all the
fatigue legislation requirements.
Toolbar

currently selected log sheet.

to add a loge entry after the last log entry listed for the log sheet. If you

entry for the day).

Tap on to view list of trucks you often drive. The
driver’s list and user information is also available if you go to vehicles tab
and then tap on ‘driver list’.
Adding/Editing Log entries
To add a log entry you will need to enter at least the
start/end time for the log entry.
You will need to enter
a log entry for each time you worked during the day. So if you started at
6am and then had a break at 10am and restarted at 10:30am and had a break at
1:45pm you will need two log entries – one starting at 6am and finishing at
10:00am and another starting at 10:30am and finishing at 1:45pm. Logbook
Checker will then automatically calculate work time and the rest time you had
between breaks. Other information is optional but does show when Logbook Checker draws the log sheet for
you.
Two-up Drivers
If you have chosen two up driving option when adding
your Log sheet Logbook Checker will give the following extra field.
Using
2-up Co-Driver – turn this to on if your co-driver drove for that
period of time. If you drove then turn this option to ‘Off’.
NB – you need to enter your
log entries as well as your co-driver’s log entries into Logbook Checker in
order for the app to calculate correctly. Logbook Checker automatically works
out both your stationary rest breaks as well as your non-stationary breaks
using this information.
Toolbar
The title will either show /Edit Log Entry if you are editing or viewing a log entry already
entered or Add Log Entry if you are
adding a new log entry.
Tap if you do not want to save changes to a log
entry already entered or cancel adding a new log sheet. It will not delete this
log entry – if you want to delete a log
entry go back to the list and hold down on the log entry you want to
delete.
Tap if you have finished entering/changing
information to save changes and close this entry screen.
Time Information
There are only two compulsory fields that need to be
entered for a log entry – start and end time. However, Logbook Checker makes it
very simple to enter other information as shown below.
Tap on to bring up a
time-picker which will allow you to change the start time. This will be the
time you started driving for this particular log entry.
Tap on to bring up a
time-picker which will allow you to change the end time. This will be the time
you ended driving for this particular log entry.
Tap on and Logbook Checker
will automatically calculate your end time for you and tell you why you have to
stop driving at this time.
Work
Hours – this will be calculated as you change either start/end
times to show you how long you have worked.
Since
Major Break – this will show how many hours you have worked since
you last major (7 hour) break.
Rest
Hours –
this shows how long you have rested since your last log entry.
Night
Hours –
this calculates number of hours for this log entry that are deemed to fall
within night hours bracket (ie
between midnight and 6am).
Long

hours are deemed long hours (ie over 12 hours work since last major break).

started this log entry. This will default to the odometer end for the previous

Logbook Checker makes it easy to enter towns as it has
a small database of most rural towns in Australia. If the town is not in our
database it will be added as you go. Once you start typing in either Town field a list of towns starting
with the letter you have typed will appear.
You can also tap on the GPS-button to bring up a list
of towns/locations in the area – if the location you want is not listed you can
add it so that you can use it again in the future.
Odometer
end – this
is the odometer reading for the truck when you ended this log entry. This will
be the default value for odometer start on your next log entry.
Town
End – this
is the town you end up at when you ended this log entry and will be the default
value for town start on your next log entry.

you tap in the field it will allow you enter this manually. This value will be
the default value for your next log entry.
If you have entered all the trucks you drive in the
trucks list on Logbook Checker you can have these come up in a picker by
clicking next to the truck rego/name field as shown below.
Truck

you have names for your trucks enter the name in this field. You next log entry
